Module 1B-3 Self-Activity

At the Glanvilles Secondary School we have two computer labs. Lab #1 is equipped with 12 new computers and a printer. This first lab is used to teach EDPM. The roll of the school is rather small, only 102 students, spanning 7 classes. EDPM is taught from the 9th Grade. The class is divided into 3 groups and there are only 15 students in each 3rd form so for the present the equipment in the lab is quite adequate for our needs. Our Second lab was opened in February. This lab is used to teach IT lab and has a compliment of 16 computers.

Our school became a secondary school a little over two years ago, and the EDPM lab was donated to the school by the Rotary Club. The club used one internet provider-LIME. The internet provider is a different one to the second lab which was given to the school by Digicel. We are therefore quite fortunate to have two labs and two very reliable internet providers servicing the school.

In addition, the school has three radio/cassette players, one for the Modern  Language department, another for the English Language department and the last one for the library. By the second semester, the library will also equipped with three computers, a television and a projector.

Each teacher has also been presented with a lap top by the government. The government is in the process of providing all school teachers in Antigua and Barbuda with a lap top.
