It took me a while to get through this activity but I felt it was important that I take my time. In my school we are at the point where ipads have been handed out by the government to students. Problems have arisen with how the students use them. I can now see the mistakes that were made.

I need no convincing that children will learn better in an ICT enabled classroom. In a survey I carried out in an earlier module, all the students stated that ICT tools made learning fun. Once students are enjoying the lesson, they will learn.

I was introduced to a IWB about 5 years ago.  I always thought it was a great tool for the classroom. I now believe that this device is best used in a classroom where you have various learning centres established. Teachers also need to plan their lesson well so that classroom activities are not centred around teachers

When you think you have learnt all there is to learn about classroom management some piece of material always come along. I was made to realize that what it took me years to learn was written about long ago. Nothing however beats experience as we are told time and time again - experience is the best teacher.

Module 9 Activity 10

I choose a company who over the years has shown much interest in the development of the school. A Digicel  representative has also approached me about adopting the school. I will therefore be sending them a letter.

The meeting went fairly well. The ICT staff and management team were invited to the meeting. Both groups are quite open to the ICT integration in the school as the school is faced with the children being issued ipads by ther government without any formal training being given to the teachers.

Reading through what the others have written is beginning to show me that I need to be thinking outside the box.

I am beginning to see the way the course was conducted at first would have worked better for me when I have in depth material like those for activity 7 to read. I keep wishing I had more time to read and reread and basically internalize all the valuable information you are presented with. Two very good articles.

Module 9 Activity 6
Of all the activities we have to carry out with the modules, I hate this the most. I hate constructing, conducting and analyzing surveys. I learnt a great deal about my staff and school by analyzing the survey results. I have been able to use the survey to map my way forward all be it slowly.

finding information on the various schools was tough. I decided to stick to the Caribbean and then realized that in terms of ICT integration in schools Antigua is not way ahead of the others as our government has touted. It also made me realize that I have quite a bit of work to do to get my school where I want it to be.

Module 9 Activities 3 and 4

It is not that I have not done my e-diary. The blogs for activities 3 and 4 are works in progress. Maybe I am reading too much into what I am expected to do, but I want to turn my school into a 21st century institution sooooo much, I find I am spending quite a bit of time on this exercise.

This activity was not a very difficult one but I needed to really think through the scenarios before I could attempt to answer the questions.

What I am beginning to realize is that most of us will be facing the same challenges. I Think Gayle has the best idea for dealing with the problems we will face. Try to solve our problem by creating a team of teachers who are technology savvy. Let them help to train the other teachers

Module 7 Activity 11
This activity took a while for me to create for it required much thought. Finally got it done then realise that in Antigua this would be a pipe dream due to financial restraints. I thought of a way the 21st century learning space may work her with a little juggling though, Instead of one classroom with the spaces why not several classrooms each representing representing a learning space. Its's a thought.

Module 7 Activity 10b
Read through the activity over a week ago, but did not feel comfortable enough to move on. throughout this module I have felt that I do not have enough time to cover the wealth of information I have to cover.

Module 7 Activity 9
Wish I had more time to spend on the articles. I know I will be coming back even after the course is finished to download some of them for my teachers. I hope the school where I was before, the head has continued with the use of ICT in the classrooms. My teachers there had begun using the tools when I left.

Module 7 Activity 7:
 I smiled when I looked back at what I had written. In my school, phones should be off between the hours when 'learning ' is taking place. I had a case of cyber bullying and tried to blue tooth the evidence to another teacher. i gave up. There were so many phones on and the names of the phones alone told me the users were children.

Module 7 activity 8:
I took part in the group activity and found it quite rewarding. A group of us have been using skype for a while to communicate so that part of the exercise was 'easy'. What I found different, was the group dynamics. I really learnt to appreciate collaboration. I tended to be a bit behind the others and they kept making sure I kept up and understand what was going on. I can see this method of teaching working for students as it has been working for me.

Module 7 Activity 6

I am beginning to see projects in a different light. Most of the projects are quite extensive. I have even gotten some ideas for the project idea I proprosed earlier on the control of stay dogs in my school community. Even if i do not get to see the project to the end this course has given me some ideas to help us with the problem.

Activity 5

I am now trying to catch up on my blogs. What I have found daunting is that I read the information and find that I may not be retaining much for I am not getting to spend enough time getting acquainted with the information. I think i prefer when there was more time between activities.

Module 7 Activity 4
 This activity took a while for me to sort out in my head. I knew I wanted the students to complete a project on 'dogs' - mammals. I did not know how I should state the project. There is a huge problem of stray dogs in the area. On the little stretch of road, there are four (4) school. All the schools share the same problem. The students' curriculum deals with classification of animals. I therefore decided to make the project be a one where they would use the information in science, language and social studies.

Module 7 Activity 3

Working on this activity was a bit frustrating at times for I had to teach myself to write on the whiteboard. I can see me using this tool with my students and hope I get a chance to use it. I also got to realize that I had been using critical thinking in my classroom all along but I do not think I have been using it enough. I plan to use this strategy more.

Module 7 Activity 2

There are times when you have a task to complete that is so simple and you make it hard. Before I started this activity I was not sure what to do, but as i progressed through the exercise I kept wondering if I may have read too much into the activity.

Module 7 Activity 1
The first activity was not difficult at all. I guess it is because I am beginning to realise (through the help of this course) that the world is changing and as a teacher< I need to change if I am to keep up.
